WELCOME TO THE BUCK INN

We were delighted to win “Best Licensed Premises in North Yorkshire” at the regional awards ceremony for the England Retail Business Awards in Leeds. We knew that we had been nominated by one of our customers, and that a number of people subsequently voted for us, but it was a complete surprise to hear that we were finalists, and an even greater shock to find out that we had won. Of course, this is down to a team effort, and we really appreciate our excellent team of staff, and the support we receive from our wonderful customers, especially during the Covid pandemic.

The Buck Inn is a welcoming country pub overlooking the green in the beautiful village of Thornton Watlass which is at the entrance of Wensleydale, gateway to the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It is the ideal base from which to explore this fantastic part of the country whether you are keen walkers, cyclists, sightseers or are simply looking to relax and unwind. We welcome families and dogs, and also offer fishing and golfing breaks.

The Inn is located just a short distance from the A1 making us a great place for a stop over if you are in the area. The Buck Inn is located amongst a fantastic array of charming market towns and picturesque villages including Middleham, Masham and Harrogate. Our restaurant and bar is great for relaxing in and offers a choice of locally brewed real ales. All our food is made on the premises, using local suppliers wherever possible. Vicki & Tony have been at The Buck Inn for 9 years, and completed a total refurbishment of the property. This has included a new kitchen, refurbishment of all the bedrooms, a complete transformation of the function room and garden, replacing all the windows with double glazing and installing patio doors, to enable better access to the garden. Despite the challenges posed by Coronavirus restrictions, they managed to replace a heating boiler, and make further improvements to external areas at the rear of the property. Last year, all table tops were replaced in the bar.
